12 Jan New Year, New Technology
With every New Year comes new opportunities and 2018 is no exception for Ironclad Excavating. Recently, Ironclad through John Deere dealer West Side Tractor Sales, joined the exciting and ground-breaking world of drones with Kespry, an aerial intelligence pioneer transforming how organizations capture, analyze and share insights about their business, providing the information they need to accelerate their operations. We first observed the drone at last year’s CONEXPO-CON/AGG in Las Vegas at the John Deere main exhibit. What drew our immediate interest was the ease of creating a mission, flying the drone, how quickly the information was uploaded and available for use, and finally the cost compared to many other drones in the market. Later that year we scheduled a demonstration, flying one of our sites that was around 60+ acres. After a 20-minute flight, the drone landed and uploaded the entire project to Kespry’s cloud. Normally this kind of survey for this size of site would take a day with traditional GPS equipment. A few hours later it was processed and available to review. Once on Kespry’s cloud, there were many tools to calculate dirt volumes between flights, stock piles volumes, square footage, and more along with various major file formats to download for using on other programs. Ironclad, noticed right away the enormous potential to save time along with keeping up with production not just on a weekly basis, but daily as well. With all of the drone’s abilities it allows Ironclad to better service our customers which in the end is the goal anytime we look at adding innovative technology.
